Financial-savvy and technology enthusiasts should get excited over the arrival of the
Apple Inc.AAPL
Watch product as it could make their financial management life a bit easier. Companies such as Citigroup, E-Trade and Fidelity Investments are in the process of developing (or have already developed) apps that can be used by Apple Watch users to monitor investments, retrieve real-time stock market updates and account information. The availability of apps isn't limited to major brokerage houses. Toughturtle on Friday announced the release of StockWatch for Apple Watch, providing an easy-to-use market quote and portfolio tracking tool giving users instant access to all their watchlists and portfolios. "We are delighted to be one of the first financial Apps providing our customers with this innovative experience," said Todd Barnes, Director of Development at Toughturtle LLC in a
press release.
"With our app for Apple Watch, tracking the stock market becomes second-nature - as easy as checking the time." "It's extraordinary and fun to see the industry target a new product release," Blane Warrene, co-founder of QuonWarrene, a financial service technology consulting firm
told InvestmentNews
. "Usually it plays the wait-and-see approach. So, it's extraordinary to see the industry move so fast." Non-financial and investment related firms are also scrambling to offer their products and services available to Apple Watch users.
