CMGE Launches Open Beta Testing for 3D RPG Mobile Game "New Legend of Sword and Fairy"

HONG KONG, April 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group Limited ("CMGE" or the "Company") CMGE, the largest publisher and a leading developer of mobile games in China, today announced that it has launched open beta testing for its 3D RPG mobile game "New Legend of Sword and Fairy" on April 9, 2015 for both Android and iOS platform. On the first day of launch, gross billings for "New Legend of Sword and Fairy" surpassed RMB10 million and was ranked number 12 on iOS' popularity rankings in China. Big platforms such as Qihoo and Baidu put this game in recommendation areas of their distribution channels.

"New Legend of Sword and Fairy" was authorized by and co-developed with Softstar Technology. The strong performance on its first day proves not only that the IP, which embodies classical Chinese culture, still resonates with players 20 years after its creation, but also demonstrates the strength of CMGE's game development, publishing and operations capabilities. In order to bring players the most original experience, Mr. Yao Zhuangxian, the creator of "New Legend of Sword and Fairy", personally participated in the design of the characters, game scenes and game-play. CMGE also conducted extensive marketing activities through numerous channels such as Sina Weibo, Tencent News, Youku and iQIYI as well as issuing many TV advertisements.
