The United States economy gained just 71,000 private sector jobs in the month of July. The low jobs number caused the Dow (
DJIA
) to plummet as investors fears of a jobless recovery resurfaced. Investors sold off stocks and the Dow was down 145 points most of the day. A late buying frenzy led to a rally that caused the Dow to finish the day down only 21 points. The investing marketplace is still full of scared investors. Is the economic recovery for real? Are stocks due for a double dip? When will job growth occur in the private sector? As long as these questions persist, the stock market will remain a traders market.
