Discussing The Cannabis Market And Changing Regulations With CannGoods

The following post was written and/or published as a collaboration between Benzinga’s in-house sponsored content team and a financial partner of Benzinga.

On April 24, 2020, Benzinga will be hosting its first-ever Virtual Deal Room at 10 a.m. EDT. Benzinga’s Virtual Deal Room will pair 2-5 cannabis companies with investors looking to place capital now. Among the cannabis companies presenting at the event is CannGoods, a supply chain solution company that accelerates go-to-market for cannabis ingredient products.

What They’ll Be Discussing

Lucas Robinson, founder and CEO of CannGoods, will be presenting at the event. Robinson will be discussing the current market conditions in the cannabis industry and will be presenting an opportunity to modernize the immature supply chain.

CannGoods and its partners are delivering a supply chain from the U.S. to box stores across the U.K. In a mission to navigate regulatory requirements, CannGoods is working to bring cannabis ingredient products to market with speed and compliance.

Regulatory Requirements

As the conversation surrounding regulation continues in the industry, the coronavirus pandemic has proven impactful. In recent news, the FDA has issued a warning letter detailing claims made by CBD manufacturers on certain products’ ability to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19 without approval from the FDA.

“This could be a critical moment for CBD regulations,” said Robinson. “Given the crisis and what is at risk, CBD products and the plethora of unproven curative uses for which it is marketed may come under intense scrutiny by the FDA, resulting in new regulatory requirements.”
