In early 2020, Wayfair will welcome its first class of "little sisters" from Josiah Quincy Upper School located in the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston. Wayfair volunteers will be matched with eighth, ninth and tenth-grade girls who will come to Wayfair's office regularly for a variety of learning and mentoring activities.

"We're thrilled to partner with Big Sister Boston to provide our employees and community with a unique program aimed at inspiring career aspirations with young women," said Jane Carpenter, global head of communications, Wayfair. "We have an engaged base of employees who are eager to offer their skills and resources to make a difference in the broader community."

"We are excited to launch our newest workplace mentoring partnership at Wayfair. They recognize that an investment in women and girls of our city is an investment in our entire community," said Deb Re, Big Sister Boston's president & CEO. "Not only is Wayfair engaging their staff in a meaningful way, they are providing much-needed, one-to-one mentoring relationships for girls that contribute to their social-emotional development and academic success."

Big Sister Boston's mission is to foster adult-youth mentoring with a focus on girls' unique developmental trajectory. Through the Wayfair workplace mentoring program, the organizations hope to inspire girls to pursue careers and leadership roles by allowing them to gain exposure to a positive work environment and engage in conversations that will enable them to explore their interests.
