South State Earns Best Places to Work, Top Workplaces Awards

South State Bank today announced it has earned top honors as a workplace of choice in South Carolina and Richmond, Va., having been named to the 2019 Best Places to Work in S.C. and Top Workplaces in Richmond lists.

For the third consecutive year, South State earned the "Best Places to Work" title, one of only 29 large employers in the state to be given the honor by SC Biz News, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group. Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the best places to work in South Carolina. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking, which will be revealed on Aug. 1.

For the first year, South State was awarded a Top Workplaces honor by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The Top Workplaces honors are based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection, just to name a few.
