Kayne Anderson Hires Jarvis Hollingsworth as General Counsel

Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P. ("Kayne") announced today that Jarvis V. Hollingsworth has joined the firm as General Counsel. He will also serve on the Executive Committee. Mr. Hollingsworth brings over 25 years of experience as an attorney, having previously been a partner at Bracewell LLP where he served as a member of the firm's Management Committee. His practice at Bracewell focused on corporate governance, fiduciary duties and director liability, advising Boards of Directors/Trustees of public and private companies and government and education institutions. Mr. Hollingsworth plans to allocate his time between Kayne's Los Angeles and Houston offices and will report directly to Mike Levitt, Kayne's CEO.

In joining Kayne, Mr. Hollingsworth will succeed David Shladovsky, who will remain at Kayne until his eventual retirement from the firm.

In addition to his prior legal practice, Mr. Hollingsworth is currently a trustee and Chairman of the Board of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas ("TRS"), a Texas state agency which manages a $150 billion-plus pension trust fund. His term extends until August 2023. Mr. Hollingsworth formerly served as a TRS Trustee from 2002 to 2008 and as Chairman of the Board from 2005 to 2008. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Cullen/Frost Bankers Inc. (Frost Bank) CFR, based in San Antonio, Texas, and on the Board of Directors of Emergent Technologies LP, a financial technology company that provides payment services in emerging markets and new blockchain-based payment technologies. He is a former Regent and Chairman of the Board of the University of Houston System, and has previously served as a director of the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Hollingsworth is a former Captain in the U.S. Army, having served on Active and Reserve duty. He received a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. He is a member of the 2018 Ebony Magazine Power 100.
