Comfort Systems USA Announces First Quarter 2019 Conference Call and Webcast; Discloses Ransomware Attack

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. FIX, a leading provider of commercial, industrial and institutional heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical contracting services, announces that it has scheduled its quarterly conference call and webcast for Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time to discuss first quarter 2019 financial results. The results will be released after the market closes on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

Beginning on April 14, 2019, the Comfort Systems USA, Inc. information technology infrastructure was impacted by a ransomware attack virus. As a result, a substantial majority of our operating locations are experiencing loss of access to certain data and outages affecting systems including accounting, payroll, billing, job report and management and other software environments. These disruptions are creating challenges in key back office functions requiring workarounds and alternative procedures.

Our first quarter financial results were not affected by this incident and we currently expect to announce those results on our customary schedule as set forth above.

We are in the early stages of assessing and addressing the impact of this attack, and we expect to incur certain costs and experience inefficiencies and delays associated with the incident and our response efforts, which could adversely affect our financial results in future periods. While we anticipate that any such costs, inefficiencies and delays would likely be incurred during our second quarter of 2019 and would primarily impact the timing of our cash flows in the short and intermediate term, there can be no assurance of the ultimate impact of this attack on our business, results of operations or financial condition. However, we remain optimistic about our prospects for 2019 and beyond and do not believe that this incident will have a long-term material adverse impact on our business, results of operations or financial condition.
