Dr. JoAnn Sternke Named Recipient of 2019 Baldrige Foundation Harry S. Hertz Leadership Award

Global professional services firm Huron HURN today announced Dr. JoAnn Sternke, senior director and coach in Huron's Studer Education business, received the Baldrige Foundation's 2019 Harry S. Hertz Leadership Award (Hertz award). Dr. Sternke was recognized for her lifelong commitment to the education industry, empowering education institutions to achieve performance excellence and transforming the lives of K-12 and higher education students.

The Hertz award recognizes outstanding leaders that embody the Baldrige leadership values and principles while helping others achieve performance excellence. The Hertz award is one of four categories in the Baldrige Foundation Leadership Awards.

Dr. Sternke previously served as the Superintendent of Schools in Pewaukee School District in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Under her leadership, the Pewaukee School District received the 2013 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a presidential honor few organizations have achieved. She serves on the Board of Examiners for both the Baldrige National Quality Program and the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence. She is also an active member of the American Society for Quality.
