IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Home Connect, a dynamic ecosystem created to connect home appliances to the Internet of Things, kicks off its presence at the 2019 International Builders Show (IBS) by announcing its integration with leading global wearables brand Fitbit FIT. The first Home Connect wearables integration provides consumers the convenience and delight of controlling their home appliances on-the-go right from their wrist and enhances Home Connect's growing lineup of partners and products.

"With Fitbit, we can help consumers unlock the potential of their connected home appliances from the smartwatch they're already wearing — which fits perfectly with today's busy consumer who wants to get the most out of their day," said Patrick Palacio, director of business development and innovations for Home Connect. "Fitbit is a trusted and celebrated brand whose wearables and app platform experience help users simplify their everyday lives with utility features like this. This aligns with Home Connect's consumers, which are always looking to enrich their experiences and lifestyles, and are now able to do so with a single, convenient app."

Home Connect unlocks a multitude of connected consumer experiences in the household. With the intuitive Home Connect app, consumers may control all of their home appliances and access services whether they are home or away. For example, with Fitbit and Home Connect, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Ionic adidas edition and Fitbit Versa smartwatch users can easily control and view status all of their appliances from their wrist, like check when their dishwasher cycle will finish or the oven's status to see if dinnertime is approaching. Consumers can even preheat their oven on their way home or during an evening jog, or start their day by brewing the perfect cup of coffee. Fitbit smartwatch users with the Home Connect app will also receive notifications to alert them when the laundry is finished or if you accidentally leave the refrigerator door open – all to more seamlessly allow them to run their household well and stay on top of daily activities.

Home Connect experiences will also grow over time: as new partners, products and services join the ecosystem, consumers will always receive updated and enhanced ways to enjoy their appliances. Several appliance brands within the U.S. have joined Home Connect, including Bosch, Thermador and Gaggenau.

Fitbit joins Home Connect's ever-growing ecosystem of well-established and innovative partners and products. Details on available Home Connect partners, products and services in the U.S. can be found at https://www.home-connect.com/us/en/

Live demonstrations of Home Connect and Fitbit working with appliance brands such as Bosch and Thermador will be available at Booth C3830 during IBS Feb. 19-21.
