AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BorgWarner and INDYCAR announced that BorgWarner will continue to be the Official Turbocharger Partner of the IndyCar Series with its Engineered for Racing (EFR) turbocharger, through the 2020 season. BorgWarner's innovative engineering and materials expertise are race proven, with more than 1.25 million trouble-free miles since 2012, on high-speed oval tracks, road courses, street courses and short oval tracks.

Assembled at BorgWarner's Asheville, North Carolina facility, the EFR Turbocharger delivers an unprecedented combination of advanced technologies.

  • Patent-pending dual-row ceramic ball bearing cartridges for more thrust capacity, durability and turbine efficiency at low expansion ratios
  • Investment-cast stainless-steel turbine housing for increased efficiency, improved durability and corrosion resistance

The EFR turbocharger also is available to consumers interested in boosting the performance of their vehicle through BorgWarner's distribution network. BorgWarner offers a range of aftermarket EFR turbochargers supporting 225 to 1,100 horsepower per turbocharger.
