Stewart Title Insurance Company Adds Theresa Garelli as Underwriting Counsel for New York

Stewart Title Insurance Company today announced the appointment of Theresa Garelli as the new Underwriting Counsel for New York. In her new role, Garelli will be responsible for supporting agency services in the New York-area.

Garelli is an attorney with more than 30 years of title insurance industry experience in all aspects of major commercial and residential transactions in New York, nationally and Internationally. Prior to joining Stewart, Garelli has worked for other national underwriters, underwriting major commercial transactions for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company, where she served as Senior Vice President and Counsel.

Prior to joining First American, she was a Senior Claims Counsel and Vice President at Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and its subsidiary, Chicago Title Insurance Company, where she received the Attorney of the Year Award in 1998.

Garelli is currently an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate Law at Baruch College at The City University of New York. She is also a member of Commercial Real Estate Women of New York (CREW NY), where she served as president in 2016.

Garelli has a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and International Business from Florida State University and a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
