Radian Champions Industry-Wide Fundraiser Raising $100,000 for the MBA Opens Doors Foundation

Radian matched donations dollar-for-dollar, revealing the grand total at the ConcertMBA featuring Kelly Clarkson

Radian Group Inc. RDN Chief Executive Officer Rick Thornberry today announced a $100,000 contribution to the Mortgage Banker Association (MBA) Opens Doors Foundation at the MBA Annual Convention and Expo. The campaign included donations from more than 200 individuals and companies.

During the months of September and October, Radian championed the industry-wide fundraising effort and the Radian Lip Sync Challenge to raise awareness and money for the Opens Doors Foundation. All funds raised will support the Opens Doors Home Grant program, which makes mortgage and rental assistance payment grants to parents and guardians with critically ill or injured children, allowing them to take unpaid leave from work and spend precious time together without jeopardizing their homes.

Through the Radian Lip Sync Challenge and the online giving portal, Radian encouraged industry leaders and companies to record and lip sync to their favorite Kelly Clarkson song and make a donation to this worthy cause. Campaign participants donated a total of $50,000 and Radian matched each donation dollar-for-dollar.

The fundraising total was announced on Tuesday, October 16 at ConcertMBA, a marquee event at the MBA Convention and Expo. ConcertMBA featured a performance by GRAMMY® award winner, Kelly Clarkson. As the Premier sponsor of ConcertMBA, Radian CEO Rick Thornberry revealed to industry leaders the impact their donations were making for families in need, in addition to showcasing the winning Lip Sync Challenge videos. The Radian Lip Sync Challenge was won by Erin Watts of Guild Mortgage and Stacey Maisano of Polunsky Beitel Green.
