Northern Trust Strengthens Foundation & Institutional Advisors Group with Two Key Additions in the Midwest

Northern Trust Wealth Management announced today that David C. Faircloth, CFA, CIMA and John Ferguson, CFA have joined the firm's Foundation & Institutional Advisors (FIA) practice in its Chicago headquarters. FIA is a dedicated, national practice that serves the investment and advisory needs of foundations, endowments and other nonprofit institutional investors.

David C. Faircloth, CFA, CIMA is a Senior Investment Officer, overseeing the design, implementation and ongoing supervision of client portfolios. Prior to his current role, Faircloth managed a team that worked with high net worth families. Faircloth began his professional career at Northern Trust almost 30 years ago as a portfolio manager. Prior to his return in 2006, he was a senior investment specialist at JPMorgan. He earned his master's degree in finance, marketing and international business from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his bachelor's degree in finance from DePaul University. Faircloth is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, and the Investment Management Consultants Association.

John Ferguson, CFA is a Senior Portfolio Manager, assisting nonprofit clients with investment policy decisions, asset allocation and investment vehicle selection. Prior to this role, Ferguson was a principal and lead portfolio manager of global strategies for Opus Capital Management. Before that, he developed factor and tax based strategies as a member of Northern Trust's Asset Management division. Ferguson has over 20 years of investment management experience as an institutional trader, sector specialist and fund manager. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. Ferguson serves his community as a foster and adoptive parent and as a founding member of Block Alzheimer's, which raises money and awareness for dementia.
