ORLANDO, Fla., May 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. KTOS, a leading National Security Solutions provider, today announced the expansion of the Company's advanced military training and simulation facility here in Orlando. The new facility adds 50,000 square feet of space directly across from the firm's existing 100,000 square foot facility.

Kratos' portfolio of warfighter training solutions includes sophisticated simulation systems for air, land and sea platforms; an extensive array of training products and services and a comprehensive Aircrew Training Center, all supported by the latest in immersive training technologies.  Kratos' training business has enjoyed rapid and successful expansion supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) along with global growth in the Middle-East, Australia and Europe and is one of the Company's fastest growing business groups.

"It is critically important for our military to have the latest technology that companies can provide to ensure our men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces are the best prepared in the world," stated Congressman Darren Soto (D-FL). "I am very proud that Central Florida is home to Kratos and other companies that are leaders in the field of simulation training."

According to a recent report by Frost and Sullivan, the continuing demand for mixed reality training is the main driver for investment and innovation in the military training and simulation market.  To meet this demand Kratos integrates advanced immersive reality technologies into course curricula with motion-based platforms to deliver a fully immersive training experience for aircrew operations trainees. Contributing to the need for additional space, Kratos' training staff has grown by 40 percent at its Orlando facility, with approximately 200 working locally and over 100 currently, or soon to be, deployed globally to support global growth.

"Immersive training is reaching a high level of realism thanks to cutting edge technology like mixed reality and VR," said Jose Diaz, Vice President, Kratos Training Solutions. "As customers experience the efficiency and cost effectiveness we can offer, and the training excellence these technologies can deliver, demand has increased. We continue to invest in technology advancement and are expanding to meet that demand."

Kratos' Orlando facility offers the most advanced blended training option available, including simulations and digital experiences, as well as classroom and hands-on instruction. Military personnel are trained through virtual, augmented and mixed realities, as well as replicated physical controls that together create a realistic, immersive experience designed to prepare them to lead combat support missions efficiently and confidently.
