W. R. Berkley Corporation Nominates Leigh Ann Pusey to Stand for Election as New Director

W. R. Berkley Corporation WRB today announced that its Board of Directors has nominated Leigh Ann Pusey to stand for election as a new director at the Company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders scheduled to be held on May 31, 2018.

Ms. Pusey is the senior vice president of Corporate Affairs and Communications for Eli Lilly and Company. Prior to joining Lilly, she was president and chief executive officer of the American Insurance Association (AIA) from 2009 to June 2017, having previously served in several AIA leadership positions, including chief operating officer and senior vice president for government affairs. From 1997 to 2000, she served as AIA's senior vice president of public affairs.

From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Pusey served as director of communications for the Office of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and from 1993 to 1994, she was the deputy director of communications for the Republican National Committee. From 1990 to 1992, she served as special assistant and then deputy assistant to the president for the White House Office of Public Liaison.

Ms. Pusey earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Samford University in 1984 and has served on the board of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the board of The George Washington Graduate School of Political Management and was a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Committee of 100.

Commenting on the nomination, William R.
