Templeton Emerging Markets Fund ("EMF") Announces Results of the Reconvened Annual Meeting of Shareholders

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Templeton Emerging Markets Fund EMF (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, announced the final results of voting at the reconvened Annual Meeting of Shareholders held today.  As detailed in the proxy materials previously mailed to shareholders of record beginning on or about December 28, 2017, shareholders approved the election of Trustees (Proposal 1), an amended fundamental investment restriction regarding investments in commodities (Proposal 2), an amended fundamental investment restriction regarding lending (Proposal 3), a change to the Fund's status from diversified to non-diversified (Proposal 4) and the ratification of the selection of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the independent registered public accounting firm for the Fund for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2018 (Proposal 5).
