New Vertical Available on PEOPLE.com/Health Beginning Today

PEOPLE is expanding its lifestyle coverage with the launch of PEOPLE Health, a new vertical that will give the PEOPLE audience expanded access to health-related celebrity, service, and human interest stories across all platforms. From expert doctors and celeb nutritionists giving advice, to emotional real-life patient stories, PEOPLE Health will provide inspiring and service-oriented stories for our dedicated readers, keeping them in the know on the latest health news. The new vertical launches in the March 5 issue, on newsstands February 23, and is available online at PEOPLE.com/Health beginning today.

"Our audience has shown a great demand for the personal stories about how celebrities like Selena Gomez, Maria Menounos, and Angelina Jolie have overcome their health challenges, and the emotional stories of how real people have achieved their own health milestones," says Jess Cagle, Editor-in-Chief, PEOPLE. "With the launch of PEOPLE Health, we have an even greater platform to inspire our audience as we continue to tell these real-life and celebrity health stories, and to inform them further about how to be their healthiest selves."

In addition, PEOPLE Health will feature a Health Squad of licensed professionals who will advise on editorial franchises such as Ask a Doctor, helping readers with common health concerns. The PEOPLE Health Squad includes Dr. Travis Stork, trainers Gunnar Peterson, Erin Opera, and David Kirsh, nutritionist Dawn Jackson Blatner, OBGYN Dr. Mary Jane Minkin, pediatrician Dr. Elizabeth Murray, and clinical psychologist Dr. Robin H. Gurwitch.

"My goal is to make health something to be excited about, not something to fear, and I'm looking forward to sharing some of the tips and tricks I've learned along the way," says Dr. Stork, who answers questions about the flu for the inaugural post in the Ask a Doctor series. "I always tell people that what happens between visits to the doctor is the biggest factor in how long and how well you live. Partner with your doctor, but no one should know more about your health than you. I call it being the CEO of your own health – it's an important job!"

PEOPLE's March 5, 2018 issue, available on newsstands nationwide on Friday, February 23 with Jennifer Aniston on the cover, includes a PEOPLE Health exclusive story on Kevin Jonas, Sr. The father of the Jonas Brothers tells PEOPLE about his battle with stage 2 colon cancer, and reveals how he celebrated last December when he learned he was in remission.

"I got in the van with all my kids, and we all broke into applause," he says. "That night I opened up a beer and had a drink with my boys. From now on, I'm gonna give a toast every time--we're celebrating when we're together."

The launch of PEOPLE Health arrives as traffic to health-related content has shown sustained increases across social and digital platforms. Tina Johnson, Senior Editor at PEOPLE and the founding Editor-in-Chief of Women's Health, will lead the vertical. PEOPLE Health joins the brand's comprehensive vertical coverage, which already includes TV, Movies, Music, Crime, Style, Royals, Human Interest, Sports, Politics, Food, Home & Travel, Babies, and Pets.
