RESTON, Va., Jan. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos LDOS, a FORTUNE 500® science, information technology, and engineering leader, was recognized as a 2018 Top 100 Global Technology Leader by Thomson Reuters. The inaugural program identifies the tech industry's most operationally sound and financially successful organizations.

The study, the industry's first holistic assessment of today's leading tech companies, uses a 28-point data-driven algorithm to objectively identify organizations with the fortitude for the future in today's complex business environment. The patent pending methodology, developed by the Thomson Reuters Boston Innovation Lab, is based on eight principle pillars of performance: Financial, Management and Investor Confidence, Risk and Resilience, Legal Compliance, Innovation, People and Social Responsibility, Environmental Impact, and Reputation.

The top 100 companies had final scores across the pillars that outshined more than 5,000 other technology companies worldwide. Leidos achieved scores above 80 in half the pillars, including the highest score among all companies for the innovation score that measures a company's capacity to reduce environmental costs for its customers and create new market opportunities through environmental technologies.

"We are pleased to be recognized as a true innovator that provides creative technology solutions to help address critical, global challenges," said Roger Krone, Leidos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Our culture of innovation inspires our employees to support vital missions across a diverse set of public and private landscapes – it's the cross-pollination of knowledge into different environments that differentiates Leidos and enables us to truly make a difference where it matters most."
