CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 03, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cortex Business Solutions Inc. (TSX-V:CBX), a network-as-a-service e-invoicing solutions provider, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Calgary Flames organization to transform its relationship from a vendor of the Flames to a true partner both on and off the ice.

The sponsorship agreement gives Cortex the exclusive rights to have their logo on all Calgary Flames transactions, on both the Flames website and social media feeds, throughout the 2017/18 NHL campaign. Types of transactions that will have the ‘Powered by Cortex' logo affixed to the announcement are player signings, player call ups from, or returns to the minors, and management signings.

"We are proud to welcome Cortex as a sponsor of the Calgary Flames," said Gord Norrie, VP - Sports Property Sales & Marketing for Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. "Cortex is a growing technology brand within our hometown that we have had a great working relationship with for over two years."  Mr. Norrie added, "Since joining the Cortex Network over two years ago, we have benefited from the strong value that the Network provides. By entering into this sponsorship we can provide Cortex the opportunity to leverage the value of the Flames brand to help raise awareness of a key vendor and partner to our thousands of fans."

"There are few brands within Calgary, or even Canada, that are as iconic and well respected as that of the Calgary Flames, and we are exceptionally proud to be so closely aligned with such an amazing organization," said Andrew Stewart, Director, Marketing & Investor Relations for Cortex Business Solutions. "Since joining the Cortex Network over two years ago, the Flames have proven time and time again that they are an incredible partner who truly supports Calgary businesses. By taking this monumental step of becoming a sponsor, we have the opportunity to strengthen our partnership, while continuing to grow awareness for Cortex by putting our brand in front of hundreds of thousands of potential customers."

In addition to the co-branding of digital assets, Cortex's sponsorship agreement gives them further brand exposure opportunities via in-rink and television broadcast initiatives.
