Graña y Montero S.A.A. GRAM GRAMONC ("the Company" or "Graña y Montero") a leading Engineering and Construction company, announced that the TyV Consortium, which is 50% owned by Vial and Vives-DSD, a Chilean subsidiary of Grupo Graña y Montero, and TNT Chile Limitada, a subsidiary of Amec Foster Wheelers, was awarded today the Vertical Work Package No. 1 (VWP1) project, for Minera Spence S.A. for a total amount of US$ 131.8 million.
This project, which will be completed in January 2020, will take place in the open-pit copper mine that Minera Spence, a subsidiary of BHP Billiton, has in the Sierra Gorda commune, Antofagasta region, Chile. The aforementioned project consists of the construction and assembly of a crushing plant as well as of material transport, and includes the development of all necessary facilities, from the reception of the material extracted on the receiving hopper in the crushing building, to the discharge of thick mineral on Stock Pile.
Vial and Vives-DSD is the building arm of the Engineering and Construction area of the Graña y Montero Group in Chile. It was born in 2014 with the merge of Vial and Vives S.A. and DSD Construcciones y Montajes S.A., two specialized companies of this sector in the Chilean market.
This project, awarded to Vial and Vives-DSD, represents a further step in the regionalization strategy that Grupo Graña y Montero has been carrying out in countries such as Chile and Colombia.
