David Marlon Elected President of State of Nevada Association of Addiction Professionals

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- David Marlon, M.S., MBA, addictionologist, was elected president of the State of Nevada Association of Addiction Professionals (SNAAP). Marlon, CEO of Solutions Recovery Treatment Center and Resolutions of Las Vegas, was nominated and voted into the yearlong position unanimously by the SNAAP board.

"The National Institute on Drug Abuse reported that in 2016 over 64,000 people died of drug overdoses," said Marlon. "These deaths are not even the full reach of addiction. As president my goal is to bring the Nevada treatment community together to more efficiently impact this disease."

As president, Marlon's responsibilities will include:

• Representing Nevada at the National Association of Addiction Professionals annual meeting
• Chairing monthly SNAAP meeting, which facilitates the exchange of ideas, event planning, and community collaboration for increased access to treatment
• Increased access to education and resources for counselors, therapists, and clinicians of Nevada

"Another one of my goals for SNAAP will be to facilitate the 'No Wrong Door' mentality, which means that if a person struggling with addiction or mental illness comes to one of us, we don't push them out and we work as a community together to refer to each other," said Marlon. "We can all treat clients together and help every individual in every way that we can.
