Classes Back in Session for Online Public School on September 11th

Students and teachers at Insight School of Minnesota (ISMN), a tuition-free online public school, will begin the 2017-18 academic year on Sept. 11th. Through live online learning sessions and support from experienced teachers and counselors, ISMN provides students statewide in grades 6-12 with a personalized approach to learning, for students of every ability level.

"ISMN offers flexibility for our students to learn at their own pace," says lead special education teacher Sheri McKeever. "We get to know our students and their families, in order to help them thrive in the classroom and in their communities."

Built on the understanding that every student faces unique challenges, ISMN provides struggling students with the academic, emotional, and social support needed to succeed in high school and beyond.

The school's Social and Emotional Learning Program helps students build up their self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The online learning environment gives students the flexibility to spend more time with the subjects and lessons where they need help, and advance more quickly in areas where they excel. Dedicated teachers craft learning plans for each student, and communicate regularly with families via email, phone and in one-to-one online meetings.

ISMN's Family Academic Support Team (FAST) empowers students to overcome challenges in and outside of class. High school students can plan for the future with college workshops and career counseling, and staff connect them with community-based resources for social and personal needs.

By attending school online, students become adept at using technology for their studies, projects and time management. They also have the opportunity throughout the year to meet at in-person social and volunteering events and in online clubs such as theater, book club, music, arts and more.

Applications for full-time and part-time enrollment are now being accepted for the 2017-18 school year. To learn more about enrollment, visit http://mn.insightschools.net/how-enroll.html, and to find out more at an ISMN event, visit http://mn.insightschools.net/events-calendar.html.
