commented today on the continued progress of its ongoing rollout of new apps designed for its ALOT Appbar. Announcing the launch of the new apps, Peter Corrao, CEO of Vertro, said, "We're very excited by the progress we've made in executing our app strategy since the beginning of the year. We believe that our internally developed apps, as well as our success in partnering with high-quality companies, will continually improve the online experience for our ALOT Appbar users, making them long-term, satisfied customers." The apps, built both in-house and through third party partnering, (with companies such as eMusic and Inuvo), are designed to appeal to a wide range of users. The new releases vary in theme, including consumer opportunities, music and other entertainment offerings, as well as social networking customization. All of the apps have user friendly functionality, which is a hallmark of the ALOT brand's products. The rollout is part of Vertro's overall marketing strategy, the goal of which is to increase customer retention and ultimately deliver increasing search and incremental non-search revenue.
