There is a slew of economic reports today, with all of them being market moving. The August ADP employment report, Chicago PMI, and July factory orders are going to be released today. The August ADP employment report is going to be released at 8:15 a.m., and economists are expecting 100,000 private sector jobs to have been added in August. The prior reading was 114,000 jobs for the month of July. Just after the start of trading, the August Chicago purchasing managers' index is going to be released. Economists are looking for a reading of 53.0, down from the prior reading of 58.8. Any reading above 50 indicates economic expansion. At 10:00 a.m., July factory orders are going to be released. Economists expect a reading of 2.0%, sharply higher than the -0.8% reading for June. At 12:30 p.m., Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart is going to speak on the economy. Futures are sharply higher this morning. Dow futures are up 80 points, NASDAQ futures are up 17.25 points and S&P 500 futures are up 9.6 points.
