Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

  • Costco Wholesale Corporation COST reported stronger-than-expected earnings for its fourth quarter on Thursday. Costco shares gained 1.74 percent to $150.05 in the after-hours trading session.
  • CalAmp Corp. CAMP reported in-line earnings for the second quarter, but sales missed expectations. The company also issued disappointing guidance for the third quarter. CalAmp shares dropped 13.71 percent to $14.16 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Wall Street expects McCormick & Company, Incorporated MKC to report quarterly earnings at $0.95 per share on revenue of $1.09 billion before the opening bell. McCormick shares fell 0.04 percent to $97.35 in after-hours trading.

  • National Retail Properties, Inc. NNN announced the retirement of Craig Macnab as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. The company named Julian E. Whitehurst as President and CEO effective April 28, 2017. National Retail Properties shares fell 1.72 percent to close at $51.31 on Thursday.
  • QUALCOMM, Inc. QCOM is said in talks to acquire NXP Semiconductors NV NXPI, according to sources as reported by Dow Jones on Thursday. NXP Semiconductors shares climbed around 17 percent Thursday following the news. The sources said a deal, which could happen over the next two to three months, would likely be valued at over $30 billion, though NXP's market cap was already over $32 billion following the report. QUALCOMM shares rose 0.22 percent to $67.60 in after-hours trading, while NXP Semiconductors shares slipped 0.65 percent to $95.50 in after-hours trading.
