Cybersecurity In Focus As Cyberark Tumbles, FireEye Ticks Higher

Shares of Cyberark Software Ltd CYBR were trading lower by nearly 12 percent early Friday morning, while FireEye Inc FEYE's stock was higher by around 3 percent.

Cyberark Reports Q4 Beat, Weak Guidance

Cyberark reported its fourth quarter results on Thursday. The company earned $0.39 per share on revenue of $51.5 million. Wall Street analysts were expecting the company to earn $0.20 per share on revenue of $43.88 million.

License revenue rose 35 percent from a year ago to $33.0 million, while Maintenance and Professional Services revenue rose 55 percent to $18.4 million. GAAP net income for the quarter rose to $9.9 million from $6.7 million a year ago.

CyberArk issued first quarter and full year fiscal 2016 guidance. The company expects to earn $0.15 to $0.16 per share in the first quarter on revenue of $42.5 million to $43.5 million and earn $0.83 to $0.86 per share for the full year on revenue of $205 million to $207 million.

Wall Street analysts were already estimating the company to earn $0.17 per share on revenue of $41.6 million in the first quarter and $0.91 per share for the full fiscal year on revenue of $202 million.

FireEye: Mixed Q4, 2016 Guidance Calls For Bigger Than Expected Losses

FireEye also reported its fourth quarter results on Thursday. The company lost $0.36 per share in the quarter on revenue of $184.8 million. Wall Street analysts were expecting the company to lose $0.37 per share on revenue of $185.3 million.

FireEye noted that its total billings for the quarter rose 21 percent from a year ago to $256.9 million. Net loss for the quarter rose to $136.1 million from $105.7 million a year ago.

The company also issued guidance and expects to lose $1.25 to $1.32 per share for the full fiscal year 2016 on revenue of $815 million to $845 million. Wall Street analysts were already estimating the company to lose $1.28 per share on revenue of $815.63 million.
