Stocks To Watch For August 25, 2015

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

Wall Street expects Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE: BBY) to report its quarterly earnings at $0.34 per share on revenue of $8.29 billion. Best Buy shares slipped 0.58 percent to $29.11 in after-hours trading.

Analysts are expecting Toll Brothers Inc (NYSE: TOL) to have earned $0.49 per share on revenue of $1.05 billion in the latest quarter. Toll Brothers shares rose 0.03 percent to $38.10 in after-hours trading.

Linn Energy LLC (NASDAQ: LINE) and LinnCo LLC (NASDAQ: LNCO) named David B. Rottino as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of both LINN and LinnCo. LINN Energy shares declined 6.64 percent to close at $2.25 yesterday, while LinnCo dipped 7.80 percent to $2.01 in pre-market trading.

The Valspar Corp (NYSE: VAL) is projected to report its quarterly earnings at $1.26 per share on revenue of $1.17 billion. Valspar shares tumbled 3.49 percent to close at $75.73 yesterday.

Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) has lifted its offer to acquire Syngenta AG (ADR) (NYSE: SYT) from CHF 449 per share to CHF 470 per share, according to sources as reported by Bloomberg on Monday. That would value Syngenta at $47 billion. Monsanto shares fell 4.01 percent to close at $93.56 yesterday, while Syngenta shares jumped 5.77 percent to close at $81.00 yesterday.

Analysts expect Sanderson Farms, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAFM) to post its quarterly earnings at $2.90 per share on revenue of $750.94 million. Sanderson Farms shares gained 1.03 percent to $68.60 in the after-hours trading session.

Childrens Place Inc (NASDAQ: PLCE) is expected to report a quarterly loss at $0.33 per share on revenue of $380.57 million. Childrens Place shares dropped 2.26 percent to close at $57.18 yesterday.
