All About Earnings: Apple, Microsoft, GoPro, Yahoo & Chipotle Lead After-Hours Movers

Here's a look at some of Tuesday’s after-hours movers.

Shares of Microsoft Corporation MSFT are down more than 3 percent, after rising 0.77 percent during the day. The company reported its largest quarterly loss ever: a net loss of $3.2 billion, or ($0.40) per share, down from earnings of $4.61 billion, $0.55 per share, reported in the same quarter last year.

Excluding non-recurring items, adjusted earnings came in at $0.62 per share, beating the Street’s consensus of $0.56. Revenue declined to $22.18 billion, from $23.28 billion, but still came in ahead of consensus estimates.

GoPro Inc GPRO also tumbled more than 3 percent despite having beat consensus estimates in both revenue and earnings fronts. Earnings came in at $0.35 per share, above consensus and guidance of $0.25 per share, on sales of $419.92 million, versus the Street’s estimate of $395.27 million.

Another big loser late Tuesday is Yahoo! Inc. YHOO, which is down 2 percent on the back of an earnings miss. EPS came in at $0.16, versus consensus of $0.18. On the other hand, revenue of $1.043 billion surpassed expectations of $1.028 billion.

Shares of Apple Inc. AAPL are down more than 6 percent and continue to plummet, despite having beat earnings and revenue estimates – mainly on the back of strong iPhone sales. The tech behemoth reported earnings of $1.85 per share on revenue of $49.605 billion, versus the Street’s consensus of $1.80 per share and $49.211 billion.

Outside of Silicon Valley, a big mover is Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. CMG. The restaurant operator announced earnings of $4.45 per share on sales of $1.198 billion, beating the Street’s expectations in the earnings front ($4.41 per share) but missing them on the revenue front ($1.216 billion). The company fell short of the crowd’s estimates in both metrics.
