Enterprise Inns First-Half Profit Slips

Enterprise Inns PLC reported a drop in its pretax profit for the fiscal half year. Enterprise Inns reported pretax profit of 10 million pounds ($15.4 million), down from GBP47 million, in the year-ago period. Excluding exceptional items, the company's pretax profit jumped to GBP57 million versus GBP55 million. Its profit after tax slipped to 4 million pounds from 37 million pounds. Its revenue fell to GBP302 million from GBP308 million.
