French Connection Reports Narrower Full-Year Loss

French Connection Group PLCFCOGF
reported a narrower loss for the full year. French Connection posted a pretax loss of 1.6 million pounds ($2.4 million) for the year, versus a year-ago loss of GBP6.1 million. The company posted an underlying operating loss of 0.8 million pounds ($1.2 million), versus a loss of 4.4 million pounds. Its revenue slipped 5.8% to GBP178.5 million. French Connection's wholesale revenue gained 4.6% to 75.2 million pounds, while retail revenue fell 12.1% to £103.3 million. Stephen Marks, Chairman and Chief Executive said, "In spite of difficult retail trading conditions in the second half of the year, these results show that we have made another step towards returning French Connection to profitability."
