SoftBank Posts Lower Quarterly Profit

reported a decline in its latest quarter profit. SoftBank's quarterly net income dropped to Yen32.3 billion ($272.3 million), versus a year-ago profit of Yen93.8 billion. Its revenue climbed to Yen2.32 trillion from Yen1.96 trillion. Its operating income slipped to Yen191.4 billion versus Yen203.5 billion, versus analysts' estimates of 219.1 billion yen. SoftBank shares rose 0.02% to close at $29.83 yesterday.
