Many retailers report their previous month's sales data on the first Thursday of every new month.

Here is a list of retailers that reported November sales data:

  • Buckle Inc (NYSE: BKE) reported its total November sales 2.7 percent from a year ago to $104.0 million. November same-store sales declined 1 percent.
  • Cato Corp (NYSE: CATO) reported its total November sales rose 10 percent from a year ago to $73.8 million. November same-store sales rose 7 percent.
  • Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ: COST) reported its total November sales rose 7 percent from a year ago to $9.43 billion. November same-store sales rose 5 percent while U.S. comparable-store sales rose 7 percent in the U.S. and -1 percent internationally.
  • L Brands (NYSE: LB) reported its total November sales rose 9 percent from a year ago to $1.08 billion. November same-store sales rose 8 percent.
  • Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) reported its total November sales rose 5.1 percent from a year ago to $6.65 billion. November same-store sales rose 5.4 percent.

Thursday's Retailer Quarterly Earnings Reports

  • Dollar General Corp. (NYSE: DG) reported its third quarter results. The company earned $0.78 per share, missing the consensus estimate of $0.80. Revenue rose 8 percent from a year ago to $4.72 billion, falling short of the consensus estimate of $4.75 billion. Same-store sales for the quarter rose 2.8 percent.
  • Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ: SHLD) reported its third quarter results. The company lost $2.71 per share, better than the consensus estimate of a $3.31 per share loss. Revenue fell 12.9 percent from a year ago to $7.21 billion but topped the consensus estimate of $6.88 billion. The company reported that comparable-store sales fell 0.7 percent in the quarter but did rise 0.5 percent at K-Mart stores.
