NYSE Set To Surpass 2013 After Raising $20.7 Billion From 68 IPOs In 1H14

In a press release on Tuesday, the Intercontinental Exchange ICE announced that the New York Stock Exchange "remained the global leader in capital raising in the first half of 2014."

The company corrected its initial statement that the NYSE Group (NYSE and NYSE MKT) raised $20.7 billion in total proceeds from 68 public offerings (revised from 89 public offerings in initial release).

More than 85 percent of U.S. IPOs have leveraged the JOBS Act.

  • In the first half of the year, the NYSE Group had three of the five largest IPOs including Ally Financial ALLY, Santander Consumer USA SC and IMS Health IMS.
  • The Group leads in transfers, including Deckers Outdoor DECK, ENLink Midstream Partners ENLK and Banc of California BANC. It represents a total of $7.7 billion in market cap.
  • Year-to-date, NYSE Group IPOs have a median return of 11.9 percent.
  • It led in technology listings (22) for the first half of 2014.
  • The Group has 87 percent of all energy IPOs (totaling $5.5 billion in proceeds) and 77 percent of financial services IPOs (raising $6.4 billion in proceeds).
  • Year-to-date, the NYSE Group has 72 percent more non-U.S. IPOs.
  • NYSE Arca led in ETP listings, representing 90 percent of the more that 100 ETPs listed this period. Currently, the NYSE Arca has almost 1,500 ETPs which represents $1.7 trillion.
