WWE Q1 Earnings Call Summary

The executives at World Wrestling Entertainment WWE spoke somewhat hesitantly in their Q1 earnings call on Monday, as they were unwilling/unable to comment on many of the questions and points brought up by conference call listeners.

They addressed mulitple points including their new WWE Network and outlook for the future.

WWE Network

  •  -667,000 subscribers so far, on target for 1,000,000  domestic subscriber goal by the end of year.

  • -Planning on expanding the WWE Network internationally to nations such as India, United Kingdom and Australia.

  • -Chief Strategy and Financial Officer George Barrios described the WWE Network as "like Netflix, just better."

  • -WWE expects to launch the network on Xbox One and Amazon Fire.

  • Outlook For the Future

-Pricing pressure could dampen video game royalties. 

-Barrios expects net income to decline $7-10 million over Q2 for a total loss of $15 million.

-Barrios sees WWE Network as major earnings source and platform of growth with new international expansion.
