Melrose Industries Posts Higher Profit, Lifts Dividend

reported a gain in its full year pretax profit and lifted its total dividend. Melrose's headline pretax profit for the period climbed to 226.1 million pounds ($379.96 million), versus GBP117.9 million, in the year-earlier period. Its pretax profit jumped to GBP171.1 million from GBP6.3 million previously, while revenue climbed to GBP1.73 billion from GBP1.05 billion. Melrose's diluted earnings per share from continuing operations came in at 9.3 pence, from a year-ago loss per share of 0.9 pence.
