Wednesday February 12th Nvidia Corporation
NVDA
reported its fourth-quarter earnings. Earnings were better than expected and Nvidia is now up 2.79 percent or $.47 per share in after-hours trading. Nvidia reported fourth-quarter earnings per share of $0.32 versus the analyst estimate of $0.24, and revenue of $1.14 billion versus $1.05 billion. This increase in both EPS and revenue represented a gain which was above what analysts' had originally expected. Nvidia issued guidance and sees itself reporting revenue of around $1.5 billion versus the estimate of $1.0 billion. Chief Executive Officer Jen-Hsun Huang stated, “Quarterly revenue came in well above our outlook, driven by PC gaming, capping an outstanding year for our GPU business.” The company is becoming heavily reliant on Geforce GTX GPU as that represents a whopping 50 percent of Nvidia's fourth-quarter revenue. Within a couple of years Nvidia has shifted itself from purely being a computer company to now being a mobile and computer company, and this shift has been very essential to Nvidia's existence as a gaming company as more and more consumers shift to use their phone Nvidia stands to gain even more revenue.
