UPDATE: Nasdaq Posts Rise In Q4 Profit

reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Nasdaq's quarterly net income surged to $141 million, or $0.81 per share, from $85 million, or $0.50 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, it earned $0.69 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.67 per share. Its revenue climbed 23% to $520 million. Nasdaq's market services revenue climbed 9% to $204 million, while information services revenue gained 10% to $109 million. Nasdaq shares rose 0.56% to $38.00 in pre-market trading.
