UPDATE: JA Solar Reports Narrower FQ3 Loss

JA Solar Holdings Co

posted a narrower fiscal third-quarter loss. JA Solar posted a quarterly loss of CNY273 million ($44.6 million), versus a year-ago loss of CNY371.4 million. On a per-ADS basis, it recorded a loss of CNY6.77 ($1.11), versus CNY9.55 ($1.56). Excluding special items, JA Solar lost CNY2.24 (37 cents). Its revenue climbed 7.2% to CNY1.76 billion ($287.3 million). However, analysts were projecting a loss of $0.36 per ADS on revenue of $261 million. JA Solar's shipments increased 20% to 500.2 megawatts. JA Solar shares fell 2.73% to $10.34 in pre-market trading.
