Essar Energy Posts Wider H1 Loss

reported a wider pretax loss for the first half of the year. Essar Energy posted a pretax loss of $498.8 million for the period, versus a year-ago loss of $282.8 million. Its revenue climbed 5% to $13.4 billion, while underlying net debt dropped 2.6% to $6.56 billion.
