Holcim Posts Upbeat Q3 Profit

reported upbeat third-quarter earnings. Holcim's quarterly net income surged to 469 million Swiss francs ($515 million), versus a year-ago profit of CHF392 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of CHF428 million. Its revenue declined to CHF5.29 billion from CHF5.74 billion, versus analysts' estimates of CHF5.47 billion. Holcim shares closed at $14.95 yesterday.
