UPDATE: CME Group Q3 Profit Surges 8.6%

CME Group

reported an 8.6% rise in its third-quarter profit. CME's quarterly profit surged to $236.7 million, or $0.71 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $218 million, or $0.66 per share. Excluding one-time items, it earned $0.75 per share. Its revenue climbed 4.6% to $714.6 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.73 per share on revenue of $713 million. CME's total expenses climbed 9.4% to $314.1 million. CME shares dropped 0.87% to $74.05 in pre-market trading.
