WPP Net Profit Rises 1.1%

WPP PLC

reported a 1.1% rise in its net profit in the six months ended June 30. WPP's net profit for the period surged to GBP280.9 million ($ million), versus a year-ago profit of GBP277.8 million. Its sales increased 7.1% to GBP5.33 billion from GBP4.97 billion. WPP's profit before interest, taxes, and exceptional items surged to GBP637 million versus GBP570 million. WPP shares closed at $91.65 yesterday.
