Vera Bradley
VRA reported first-quarter earnings Wednesday afternoon that were better than expected. The handbag maker reported fourth-quarter earnings per share of $0.62, more than the $0.57 estimate. Revenue was also better than expectations, coming in at $162.60 million -- more than the $153.56 million estimate.
Guidance, however, was light. For the first-quarter, Vera Bradley expects earnings per share in the range of $0.20-0.22, less than the $0.37 estimate. Further, the company anticipates fiscal-year 2013 earnings to fall between $1.83 and $1.88; analysts are looking for $1.87.
Shares of Vera Bradley were halted for the release.
