Carrefour Posts Rise In 2012 Net Profit

reported an increase in its 2012 net profit. Carrefour's annual net profit surged to 1.23 billion euros ($1.6 billion), from EUR371 million, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a profit of EUR810.9 million. Its net profit from discontinued operations was EUR1.12 billion. Carrefour shares closed at $5.47 yesterday.
