UPDATE: Dollar Tree Posts Higher Q4 Profit
Dollar Tree (NASDAQ: DLTR) reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profit.
Dollar Tree's quarterly profit surged to $228.6 million, or $1.01 per share, versus $187.9 million, or $0.80 per share, in the year-ago period.
Its revenue climbed to $2.25 billion from $1.95 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.99 per share on revenue of $2.22 billion.
Dollar Tree projects first-quarter sales of $1.84 billion to $1.89 billion and earnings of $0.53 to $0.58 per share. However, analysts expected a profit of $0.58 per share on sales of $1.86 billion.
Dollar Tree shares gained 4.67% to $43.00 in pre-market trading.
