UPDATE: Genworth Q4 Profit Rises 17%

Genworth Financial

reported a 17% rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Genworth's quarterly net income surged to $166 million, or $0.34 per share, from $142 million, or $0.29 per share, in the year-ago period. Its operating profit came in at $0.34 per share, versus estimates of $0.27 per share. Genworth shares fell 0.98% to $9.08 in after-hours trading.
