UPDATE: Wendy's Posts Upbeat Q4 Profit

reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Wendy's quarterly net income from continuing operations surged to $22.4 million, or $0.06 per share, versus $3.98 million, or $0.01 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, it earned $0.08 per share. Its revenue climbed 2% to $629.9 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.04 per share on revenue of $637.76 million. Wendy's shares closed at $4.90 yesterday.
