SSE Posts Narrower H1 Pretax Loss, Lifts Dividend

posted a narrower pretax loss for the six months to September 30 and lifted its dividend. SSE's pretax loss came in at GBP26.8 million, versus a year-ago loss of GBP81.3 million. Its adjusted pretax profit rose to GBP397.5 million from GBP287.4 million. SSE's operating profit came in at GBP148.5 million, while diluted EPS came in at 2.9 pence, versus a year-ago loss of 0.7 pence. It lifted its interim dividend to 25.2 pence from 24.0 pence. SSE shares closed at $22.04 yesterday.
