Yahoo Japan (OTC: YAHOY) reported an 11.8% rise in its group net profit for the fiscal second quarter.

Yahoo Japan's group net profit for the quarter surged to 27.1 billion yen, versus Y24.2 billion, in the year-ago period. Its operating profit rose 6.7% to Y43.2 billion from Y40.6 billion, while revenue increased 6.8% to Y78.7 billion from Y73.7 billion.

For the full fiscal year ending March 2013, it now expects a net profit of Y107.3 billion to Y109.6 billion on revenue of Y319 billion to Y325 billion.

Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO) of the US holds a one-third stake in Yahoo Japan.

Yahoo Japan shares closed at $12.10 yesterday.
